I came to a realization last week. For about two years I’ve been slow-walking the engine rebuild on the Thunderbird.
Two years!
It was pretty clear that I’d lost my enthusiasm for the car; it had become more of a chore than a passion.
Meanwhile, the car had been sitting in the elements for all this time with the strong possibility of enduring another rainy season before I had it running again. The Thunderbird truly deserved better, so I made the decision to put it up for sale.
It was a quite a ride for the last ten years, but now it’s time to start a new chapter.
I can’t help but feel really sad. You carried the torch for Tbird owners everywhere. I personally benefited from your steering column blog. That being said, I understand the priorities of life can get in way of the rewards of Tbird ownership. Hopefully you find something as rewarding going forward. Tony G
I actually had the same experience last year. 1964 T-Bird I had deserved better so I traded it for a BMW K100. I get to ride and the other guy is restoring the T-Bird as a father/son project.
Interestingly, I cannot find any information whatsoever on the wheels on this car, brand, diameter, width, offset. nothing at all
